There a metric butt tonne of cheap options for Graphics cards for an HTPC. I have Used an AMD 6450 1gb ddr3 Because It fit in my SSF case and it was low profile Though I would not buy another one becase it died after a few months. I was looking at the GT 640, there are quite a few options for this GPU. 1gb, 2Gb, DD3, GDDR5, all on a 128 bit bus. Nvidia Built in H264 encoder is a nice feature as well. So Any thing that comes with the low profile bracket and full size bracket, and Low heat and low price...let me know

No argument that The GTX 750 Ti is a good GPU for the money and Power consumption. The Maxwell 28nm design on that one seems to be a hit. I would like to try one out on games especially one that has a 6 Pin PIC-E connector to give it that extra juice. But unfortunately I do not have a reason to get such a card for Myself or the HTPC I am putting together for my sister.

If this is only going to be used for HTPC purposes then you shouldn't need a graphic card. I just bought a couple Intel NUC D34010WYK http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F3F381A which will easily handle any HD video playback or streaming.

They come as a barebones kit so you will need to buy the RAM and hard drive but everything else comes pre-installed.
