I have a speaker system that has two speakers connecting to a subwoofer, which connects to the computer. I also have another set of two speakers that I want to connect as well as another independent powered subwoofer.
Motherboard audio connections get out on 3.5mm stereo jacks, much like the ones used on headphones. So, you need a cable which will have 3.5mm stereo jack on one side (pluggin into the motherboard), and two separate leads for left and right channels. Here is a picture if such a plug http://shop.vetcosurplus.com/catalog/images/CAL-30-319-2.jpg
Your speaker wires should have some diferrent colors. Take (e.g) black wires, connect them together, and solder them to the most outer ring on that jack. Solder each other wire to internal rings. Now, plug this as rear speakers. Repeat the same for front, and wire subwoofer as center.
You did not say what you want to play on these speakers - games, music, movies. Every scenarion is different.
Get a cheap add-on sound card with separate front, center and rear speakers. Or check your mobo sound - it might have all these available.

Hi,
I am mainly planning on playing music on the speakers, but may occasionally play movies as well. My motherboard comes with separate front, center, and rear speaker ports, but am unsure where to connect each one.
well a quick and cheap solution to that is to just by a few 35mm Jack Splitters. I get them for about $0.50 or $1 at my local electronics shop. They're about $2 on Amazon. just put them into your existing jack and add more speakers.
