My dad wants to build a new computer for his business. He wants it to be intel, no amd suggestions please. The budget is $800 for the components, a case and a operating system. Would windows 7 or 8 be better to get if he was using xp previously?

For this build he wants it to be in a mid tower case, have a ssd drive for his operating system and some of his main programs and another hard drive for storage, must be intel and optical drives are not needed as I already have extras.

He wants this computer to be as fast as possible and since this isn't a gaming computer I assume a lower end graphics card will work just fine?

I am open to any suggestions and I do have access to a microcenter if buying there has any of the parts cheaper than online.

Solution
With this build you won't need a graphics card, the processor has an integrated one, which will be enough. A fast 128GB SSD for OS and most programs, and a 1TB hard drive for file storage and backup. 4GB of RAM running in dual-channel will be fast enough for his needs. Extremely fast processor that is even capable of gaming. Power-efficient power supply made by Antec. Windows 8.

Thank you for the response! If he is watching movies on this computer will the integrated card still be good enough?

Yep.
