So i'm getting a new laptop but, am not sure if it did ok customizing it with the budget i have :p. I'm mostly interested in gaming and maybe some school work on it but wanted to make sure it could also deal with photoshop and other programs such as PS.

With the following specs:

Case: 1 x Battalion 101 W370SS 17.3" Full HD 1920x1080 LED-Backlit Display Laptop
Processor: 1 x Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ Mobile Processor (4x 2.8GHz/6MB L3 Cache)
Memory: 1 x 8GB [8GB x 1] 1600MHz DDR3 SO-DIMM Laptop Memory
Video Card 1 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M 2GB GDDR5 Video w/ NVIDIA Optimus [W370SS]
Primary Hard Drive: 1 x 1 TB 7200rpm Super Slim Laptop Hard Drive - Single Drive
Data Hard Drive X
Optical Drive: 1 x 8x Dual Format DVD±R/±RW + 16x CD-R/RW Combo Drive [W370SS]
Media Card Reader / Writer 1 x Built-in 9-in-1 Media Card Reader/Writer [Laptop]
Sound Card: 1 x 3D Premium Surround Sound Onboard + Build-in Subwoofer
Network Card: 1 x Built-in 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN [Laptop]
Internal Wireless Network Adapter: 1 x Killer 1202 Wireless-N + Bluetooth Combo
Operating System: 1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
USB Ports 1 x Built-in 2x USB 2.0 + 2x USB 3.0 + 1x USB 3.0 / eSATA Combo Ports [Laptop]

Also the cost of it all ended up being $1283.00 Dollars is it really worth it all? and can it do alright with gaming? and programs like PS?

That should handle just about any game you wish to play. And for a very good price, too. I have the i7 4700MQ with a GTX 770M and, from what I've read, it's a good, solid gaming rig. What few games I've tried run smoothly and maxed out. The one you are planning to buy is better still, especially with the GTX 860M.
