Locating pins on a old celeron CPU

Hi I have a old Celeron CPU from a Dell Dimension 2350. I'm trying to find the power and ground pins. I'm not sure what socket it has but it said this on top of the CPU:
Intel 02
CELERON
1.70GHZ/128/400/1.75V
SL68O COSTA RICA
3302A 130-0292

That's an LGA775 socket cpu. You need to find the pin out for that socket - 775 pins!

Let's just say that there's a lot more than one of each...

Why?

Apparently the SL680 is a socket 478 chip, not 775.

EDIT: Datasheet here; you want pages 65 on.

Because there's four hundred and seventy eight pins?

That chip needs 1.75V.

You sort of need a motherboard... what are you trying to do?

I'm trying to heat a heat sink and blow the air so my cat can sit next to it when its cold in my room. I still have the motherboard the CPU came from just incase. Also i saw some guy on youtube who just sautered the CPU in 2 spots and just plug the power into a laptop with a USB, which seems like it would smoke it.

Uh. OK.

You're probably better off just getting a $10 fan heater...

You can't draw more than 2.5W from a USB port, which is an absolutely useless amount of power/heat.

Well i also was going to try using the CPU to heat water and the water will go into a radiator and ill have a fan behind it (yes I know what I'm doing). Also fan heaters are 1kW, unless your talking about some other heater. Or i can make a hot plate.

Sounds like you're just using the CPU as a resistor. I'd suggest using an actual resistor, or a heater element.

Fan heaters vary widely between markets. You can probably get smaller ones, or something. Most ones here are 1.8kW, or more.

No I mean how can i power the CPU without a motherboard. I just don't want to use a motherboard because it probably uses a little more power because of all the capacitors and stuff, and takes up space. and my dad already pays almost 200$ for the electricity bill. (tier 4 which is the max) I already have a water pump setup for it to push the water to the radiator.

You realise that the CPU will also consume power, and just as much as a resistor dissipating the same amount of energy.

This is silly, and I'm beginning to suspect a Troll. A CPU isn't going to generate heat if you just wire power to it without applying other signals (e.g. Clock). If you really want a heater then use something designed for the task.

I'll just leave it on the motherboard and find somewhere to put it. I'd probably fry it by accidentally connecting the wrong pins anyway. Just a project I wanted to try.
