Do shorter universal PSU cables exist?

I'm about to build a mini-itx system, and was going to use the PSU from my old system. This is a corsair HX850. I'm wondering if there are shorter cables available for me to use? I don't know if any set of cables will work with this PSU or if you have to have corsair specific ones. I'm worried that my current cables will be too long and create unneeded clutter.

Yes, they do exist. They come in various lengths (not a big selection though).

Does it matter which ones I select? Any difference in quality and such? Or are they all pretty much the same?

Don't mistake extension cables for PSU modular output cables. They are not the same thing nor are they wired the same way.

There is no universal PSU modular panel connector standard either.

Hmm, alright. But these cables will work on my current power supply? Or am I looking for something specific?

Extension or adapter cables are useless because they make the existing cable(s) longer and more cluttered.

If you want shorter modular output cables you need to have them custom made or you have to make them yourself. FrozenCPU can make you a custom set if you contact them.

Since the HX850 is only semi-modular you can't shorten the hardwired cables unless you're willing to void its warranty and you know how to shorten the cables and rewire the connectors.

These PSU cables are specifically for Corsair PSUs. Whether they fit your specific model I don't know, you will have to check with the manufacturer. No, they aren't extensions.

You can get modular cables directly from Corsair but they won't be shorter.

If the cables, that you linked to, are the same length as the original cables then they're not shorter.

Modular PSU cables are not universal. Universal means that they can be used with any brand and model of modular PSU. Since there is no industry wide agreed upon modular PSU interface standard there is no such thing as "universal".

I guess we have no means to plug our computers into the wall outlet either. That would require a universal power cord would it not. But no, the electrical out lets are different throughout the world.

I guess it is true. We have no means in the world to plug in our computers. None at all..........
