The pc just doesnt boots up at all the fans just keep rotating no beeps no lights no display nothign happens just the fans keep rotating.

I purchased the prcoessor from hard earned money please help me.

So i noticed the graphics card fan isnt spinning so I uninstalled the drivers and plugged vga into motherboard vga port.. also rested cmos/bios .. also swapped rams.. nothing is working!

and then I swapped it with my old Pentium D 820 its working perfectly fine..

I tried it 10 times but it isnt working! :( but my old cpu is working perfectly fine.. what to do? :'(

I installed cpuz and checked my motherboard it says g31/pl35/g33 chipset

The motherboard is "NECOLA NMB G31 LGA 775" their official website was closed years ago, and now IDK what to do? :(

it's probably not compatible with your motherboard, I agree to save for something more modern, even a cheap dual core AMD APU or Intel modern Pentium 1150 socket or even Celeron would destroy what you have currently, and more ram, I wouldn't go lower than 4gb bare minimum for surfing online, and 8gb is optimal for gaming, and sorry to say your gt620 isn't good for gaming at all. HD7770 is lowest I'd go for gaming.

not much you can do if the motherboard company went out of business years ago, you could try scouring google for a bios download, but those would be iffy. I've never even heard of that company. An SSD would be a MUCH better upgrade for your pc than trying to put a cpu that's not compatible in....how much did you pay for it? I think those old core 2 duo are like 20bucks on ebay. Hopefully you didn't pay too much for it >_>

It probably isn't compatible. I noticed the bios date was 2011... So yeah.. I don't think a bios update would do the trick. Unless that company is just stupidly slow at making bioses. I saw another thread where the op was told that the cpu was compatible even though nobody could find information about the motherboard online. Really that computer is way beyond the upgrade stage and should be replaced as soon as possible. The year to upgrade would have been 2008 and I would have kept it until 2011.

I paid $26 for it.

Sell the e8400 on ebay. Don't keep it and don't get another motherboard so you can use that e8400. Get an AM3+ motherboard and get all other parts when you can.
