The game is played either on desktop or laptop; any gamepad connected to the station is surely set to work. This is independent of the display device or how the display is connected to the main device on which you are running the game. In short YES!!!!Explain in easy words.
And the computer is like a floor away from my tv and i want to play game via my pc.

For easy words first how are you connecting the pc a floor away to tv (please be detailed ). & if you are able to connect it then
Try using a wireless controller, they have quite a range. (preferably logitech)
Install & connect the controller to the pc/laptop where the game is installed & running.
Hope this helps.....
