Hello everyone.
I've had the same old computer for quite a while and have decided it's time to buy a new rig. I'll be mainly using it for gaming so I would like to get something that can smoothly run games for quite a while, but without spending rivers of money. Been reading some reviews and so far I've come up with this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3yJr1

I'm a little bit over my budget but I don't mind saving up just a little longer. My main issues with this build are:
- Is the GTX780 really worth the price difference from the GTX770?
- Regarding CPU coolers, I've read so many threads advising different ones, is the Noctua a good choice or would the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO be enough? I will be overclocking the CPU
- Are those memory sticks good options? Are there better options I could go for?

I can take out the SSD drive to lower the budget a bit. Since I'll be mainly gaming, I don't think and SSD will improve my in-game performance much so that is one piece that can go, and I can get it later on if needed.

Thank you for your time

Hi.
Yes its worth the extra price, still you should think buying a R9 290X or a R9 280X if you are going with the GTX770. The r9 290x and the gtx780 will have similar performance in 1080p, but if you go 2560x1440 the amd one will win in most games. But both are great choices!
About the cooler i think the Hyper Evo 212 is good enough, i have i5-4570 so i cant oc, but my cpu never reach 60C with stock cooler when playing bf3, of course i cant oc, but the evo one is very good so i think it will be enough.
Well about the memory 16GB is a little overkill right now, and remember that for gaming there is no big difference between 1600-2400mhz (at least i think, sorry if im saying something stupid), but its a good future proof.
About the HDD i recommend caviar black editions.
Actually the SSD would decrease BOOT time and loading levels, and not just a little! And in some games it can make fps more stable (if game installed on SSD ofc)
And if you are thinking in sli/crossfire in future, i recommend a 750W or 850W power supply (XFX are very good) .

Hi and thanks for your reply :)
I'll be playing at 1080p for now since I'm pretty glad with my current monitor.
And SLI is out of the picture for me. I've had only issues with it in the past, be it constant crashes because of driver and hardware conflicts and I've just given up on trying to make it work.
Regarding the memory I guess I could go with 8GB for now and upgrade later on aswell. As for the 1600-2400mhz, the G.Skill memory sticks are pretty cheap compared to Kingston and Corsair. I don't really know the brand but from what I've read they aren't bad at all, so price wise it would actually pay off getting G.Skills at 2400mhz instead of Corsair or Kingston at 1600mhz.
I'm building this computer mainly to play the new MMO, Wildstar at the moment.

Edit: the voltage does seem an issue. What do you think of these sticks?

If you are going to play 1080P GTX770 or R9 280X are enough, but i recommend R9 290X if you can afford it cause it will handle future games much better.
Well, i dont recommend to oc ram, cause can make your system and unstable and really dont increase performance! And as you are going with I5 processor 1600mhz are enough! Amd its better with higher frequency but an I5 with 1600mhz its already good.
Go with g.skill i actually prefer g.skill to corsair or kingston when comes to ram!
I dont know that game, but any MMO at 1080P can be runned by 770/780/280X/290X.

Those sticks have a higher CAS frequency than the Corsair ones, this means the Corsair ones respond quicker to commands than the g-skill ones.

Oh ok, thank you.
I actually didn't know about the CL specs, I thought it wouldn't be that important.
Unfortunately G.Skill sticks with CL9 or 8 have a huge price spike in the store I'm assembling the PC, so I think I'm going with Kingston.
I'll probably just hold on the SSD for now to try and save some money up front.
So with all your suggestions I've come up with this:

I'd love to get a better graphics card, the 290X might be a bit too much pricewise, but the 290 is quite a bit cheaper here in Portugal. 100$ less than the GTX780 which makes it preferencial I believe.

Again, thank you for all your suggestions guys.

Im from portugal too haha ;)

Ah :D boas!

ASUS RADEON R9 280X DCII TOP 3GB DDR5 PCI-E - R9280X-DC2T-3G - 299€
ASUS RADEON R9 290 4GB DDR5 PCI-E - R9290-4GD5- 399€
ASUS RADEON R9 290X DCII OC 4GB DDR5 PCI-E - R9290X-DC2OC-4G - 579€

ASUS GeForce GTX770 DCII OC 2GB DDR5 PCI-E 3.0 - 323€
ASUS GeForce GTX780 DCII OC 3GB DDR5 PCI-E 3.0 - 493€
