I'd prefer dual channel over quad and single, I'm thinking 16gb as a lot we be devoted to the GPU, the colour scheme should be black/red and they should be a good price. The motherboard is this:

which of the three kits I have shortlisted, or any other? If you're wondering why I'm using a Kaveri, it's an experiment. I will probably add an R9 290 if I don't like it.

Faster Ram is 'better' but not by much when you consider how much extra you have to pay. So 2400 is better than 2133 is better than 1600

For gaming, 8GB of 1600MHz ram is all you need. You just have to check that it's compatible with your motherboard - check the mobos website.

I have 16GB 2133MHz ram because my main purpose for my PC is video editing. Large amounts of fast ram make the rendering process go faster.

The A10 will bottleneck a 290. RAM won't help the gpu

The ram has different latency, and apparently the Kaveri exceeds on fast ram?
