I plan to get an AMD FX 8320 CPU and I have found this motherboard that has all the features I need. However it says I need a BIOS update to use AM3+ CPUs, but you can't get into the BIOS without a CPU so... I need a CPU to update the BIOS and a BIOS update to use the CPU.
What do I do?
Thanks

That board will support a FX-8320. Here's the CPU support list.

BIOS F3 is the first release and it will work. BIOS F5 came out in Aug. 2013. So chances are that you will get BIOS F5 already installed on a new board. No worries at all either way.

Either borrow a CPU that's supported straight out of the box from someone or get a different motherboard.

Hi,

It might be useful for you to read this thread since you have the same issue..

Good Luck.

That Toms thread is about another MB all together. The GA-970A-D3P board will support the FX-8320 CPU no problems with the first through to the current BIOS.

Oh yeah, sorry my bad I've overlooked the "D3P". You're right :)
