Hey, I'm a total PC noob about to build my first gaming PC.

I have an Asus Z87-C MoBo, and I'm not sure of the best and cheapest way to get wi-fi. I know LAN is better, but that's not currently possible and Google hasn't hepled me either.

Thanks!

You're welcome :)

Here's an image showing where to plug these, according to your motherboard:

You just need one adapter, I would go with the bottom slot, since the other slot is too close to the place where the graphics card is.

A decent wifi adpater is around 25$, here's newegg website with several adapters, but you should get the adapter from a local store.

Hello jabulaniman,

That motherboard only has an ethernet controller, there is no wifi controller in the spec sheet.

You need a PCI-Express wifi controller, something like this.

Or you can get a portable (USB) wifi controller, although I recommend the PCI-Express controller for a desktop computer.

You can get one of these at the local electronics store for sure.

Thank you! How much would you spend on each, and do I plug the PCI-E controller into the sockets where the RAM goes?
