The i5 in your laptop uses probably about 15W and is likely a dual core. Obviously, your desktop FX - 8 Core that uses 125W and has eight cores will be faster. Laptop processors are designed to conserve power.

A desktop i5 processor, in most cases, will be considerably faster than a FX-8320.
A GTX 210? Wow you need a better GPU. Most games won't take advantage of that many cores, so I don't think you will see much difference from a 6300 to an 8320.

The best thing to get would be an Intel i5. That would far outperform both those AMD CPU's. But if you already have an AM3+ system, I would say save your cash, get the 6300, and maybe go for that GTX 750 Ti. That will save you from buying a new PSU.

Good luck!
