The ST1000DM005 is a HD103SJ under another name. There were firmware updates which addressed certain SpinPoint F3 issues, but those existed before Samsung's acquisition by Seagate.

its just i broke the pcb board of my hard drive and replaced it but was told that i needed the firmware to my the computer recognise the hard drive again
