I am in the process of updating my computer and want to replace my 8 year old drives that are running in Raid0. I just bought a Samsung 840 EVO 120GB from Newegg on sale with the intent of fresh installing Win7 64 bit. Before I do that though I think I should also purchase a WD blue 1TB as a storage drive for my wife's rapidly expanding photo gallery. For $59.xx it seems the best bang for the buck on storage.
My question is am I able to simply plug the new WD Blue into my existing Raid system and just copy/paste all the pictures/videos? Once I have done that, and remove the old drives, will my SSD read the new WD blue storage drive correctly? Or will I have "ownership" issues with the new OS install. It sounds right but I know better to assume plug-n-play.
Thanks for the help!
Current System:
Windows 7 64bit
i5 2500k - stock cooling (have not needed to OC)
Asus P8Z68-V LX
EVGA GTX760 SC 2gb
2x8gb Kingston Blu 1600
Ultra LSP 600W psu
2x WD Caviar SE16 320gb - Raid0
