Ok. I fixed half of my problem, but I will post the whole thing in case they have something to do with one another. First, my media HD (Samsung 1tb 7200 hd) was not showing up sometimes at boot. This started a while back but it was rare so I never bothered with it. This was also after the installation of a new SSD. I narrowed this down to a bad SATA port today after it became a constant no show; i ended up having to put one of them into SATA 2 and now all 3 hard drives are showing up at boot.

My issue now is the PC won't shut down. It begins the process, monitors go blank, and then it just sits there until I manually shut it down by holding the power button. There are no messages like "windows was shutdown incorrectly" when I boot back up so I don't even know where to start. This just started yesterday and I had not gone inside the case to do anything since the new SSD 2 months ago.

My specs: intel i5 3570k ivy OC'd @ 4.2, 16gb RAM, Geforce 680 3gb, Samsung EVO SSD 250gb (windows 8 os), Kingston SSD 128gb, WD HHD 1tb, ASRock z77 extreme 4, cooler master hyper 212 EVO, Corsair 760w psu, and a Raidmax SMILODON mid tower
