  1. Neither.

What is your budget for the storage options?
And is this a laptop or a desktop?

Well....all else being equal, the one with the 24GB SSD cache drive will be kind of, sort of, theoretically faster.

Those SSD cache+HDD things work by learning what files/applications you use the most, and having those live on the faster SSD.
The one with the 24GB will be able to hold more stuff, and as such have those things be 'faster'.

You and the OS sees it as just one drive. You don't get the option to choose what goes on the SSD.
Whatever the system decides needs to be on the SSD will be faster.
  4. Thank you! Is this is a good buy for the money i am paying? I have Lenovo T420 and I am happy with the system but never used Hybrid hard drive so wanted to ensure if that's good to buy.
  5. My loaded Lenovo Y510P with the double graphics cards and 1TB 5400 HD/24GB SSD Hybrid drive just blew the SSD part and is sitting at the Lenovo repair depot waiting for the new drive to come in, which Lenovo says is currently unavailable. I do not trust SSD reliability. Can I switch to a non-ssd 5400 drive? If so, can I upgrade to a 7200 non-ssb drive. I guess I just don't know whether the BIOS will let me do either, or whether it will even care.

    TIA
