No, don't get an i7. I'd suggest waiting for an i7, and if you want a good gpu the 770 is a great card.

If your not editing, the i7 is not necessary right now. The i5 is just right for gaming right now.

Skip the i7 4770k in total and get the i5 4670k. There is basically no difference in performance if you're just playing games. For editing, rendering and other work-related things, then the 4770k wins by a mile. But, if you're just doing regular 1080p gaming, get the i5 4670k.

But to answer your question and get back on topic, your current CPU right now should be fine, so get the 770. Plus, I'm pretty sure the release of the 800 series of graphics cards has been delayed due to some manufacturing errors. Get the 770 now, and the i5 4670k later. Your processor at the moment should handle it well enough.

Plus, remember that if you choose to upgrade your processor now, you will have to upgrade your motherboard to support the Intel-based CPU.

sounds good the 770 it is and the 4670k is better than x6 for video editing and rendering too right? if i get a 4670k how long will that last me for gaming all this generation of ps4 and xbox one? what about a 8350 fx amd cpu vs 4670k?

You have two choices for a 770:

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp42776...

This is the regular 2 gig version, which is great for a 1 monitor setup

or

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp43778...

The 4 gig edition. This will come in handy if you decide to have a dual or triple monitor setup, if not go for the 2 gig version.

im aiming for the 4gb version i wanna max out everything with no problems with at x2aa at most.

also 4670k vs 8350? which would be better?

4670k. Amd is just more cores but their crappier. The hyper threading of the 4670k is meant for gaming.

It is much better. You will see a huge difference, and you should be able to last with the 4670k for the next while, before needing an upgrade. The single-core performance on these intel CPU's are huge, compared to the AMD CPU's. Though for low budget gaming, AMD is king, in anywhere from upper-mid budget computers, Intel takes the lead.
