FX 4350 (not overclocked but I could)

Mobo: 990 FX / SB 950

2 x 4 gb ddr3 @ 1600 MHz (corsair vengeance)

GPU is sapphire radeon HD7870 gb OC edition.

-> I have some $$ for hobby finally and am interested in getter better gaming performance. Is my GPU "bottlenecked" atm, or would adding another or a better one yield gains of any significance? If not, where can I improve significantly (without switching to intel, illogical I know, but it is how it is lol) Thanks!

Gfx cards are not an item that can 'bottleneck' a CPU. It's usually stated the other way around, since games are heavily graphic oriented. But a person could have too weak of a CPU to handle gaming in general. In your case, you are fine.

But by upgrading your card, you should get better framerates if that is your problem now.
