Wireless solution for PC?

I plan to build a PC and my parts are to come in a few days. I have a room planned to be a gaming room. The router used to be there, but my family recently switched internet providers and the new router needs to be connected to a type of "outlet" which is not in that room. The router is now located... in my mother's room. Not the ideal place to be putting my PC.

I do have another old router. Sorry about my ignorance, but is there a way I can connect my PC by cable to the old router, which then wirelessly connects to the main router? If so, how do I do this?

If this is not possible, I will have to start saving for a wireless USB connector. Or run a really, really, long cable. Bummer.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

That depends on the vendor and what capabilities the routers have. It is very easy to bridge two un-secured networks, but that isn't exactly a good idea.

If they are of a similar brand, simply set them up with the exact same settings and it may work.

Running a cable between two routers can do it sometimes, but sometimes the encrypted traffic and un-encrypted traffic won't see each other.
