Hello Folks at Tomshardware,

I'm having an extremely weird situation with AMD drivers right now. I've tried posting about this at the AMD forum, but I can't seem to get a proper answer there. It's embarrassing to have an issue like this as I consider myself a fairly educated person when it comes to computers, but this blows my mind.

Basically when I try to install AMD's newest 14.4 catalyst drivers I get either one of two things: 1) A BSOD during installation with an error code "SYSTEM SERVER EXCEPTION" pointing at ntoskrnl.exe as the culprit. I then get chain BSOD when attempting to start windows normally and have to enter safe mode and completely wipe AMD drivers to stop it with DDU 2) It installs "correctly", but I get a BSOD at shutdown with error code: MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS and the same ntoskrnl.exe flag.

So I wipe the AMD drivers off my system and attempt to do a driver verification to see if any drivers on my PC are causing the issue, however this also causes me to get a BSOD on shutdown with an error code DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION pointing at strangely enough amdacpksd.sys. Mind you I wiped all of the AMD drivers off my system. It states that this driver attempts to corrupt the kernel during verification.

This only happens when trying to upgrade to the newest 14.4 WHQL drivers. I don't have this issue with 13.12 WHQL. Getting the 14.4 driver is really important though as it is the official Mantle driver. I've pretty much tried everything I can to get them to work. Using DDU, doing a regular uninstall, etc. but nothing works. My copy of Windows is less than 30 days old so I strongly doubt it has to do with that either.

Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening?

Thanks
