I'm having trouble with my pc. For some reason it just stopped working, just out of the blue. I recently upgraded my pc, I installed a new r9 280x and it was working fine all night long and all this morning. I turned my monitor off for a while and had to do some stuff and then I come back, turn it on and it won't display anything. I thought my graphics card was dead so I put in my old one. Same problem. Doesn't display anything. I tried reseating my cables and even replacing some of them. It gives everything power because my heatsink, card, and case fans all start up but it won't display anything. I did everything I could, don't know what to do from here. I even both cards with both PCIe slots but still nothing. Also, there no way I can connect to my motherboards integrated solution because it doesn't have one. Neither does my CPU. I'm running an FX 8350 on an obvious AM3+ platform on the 970a chipset. Help would be appreciated.

Ok, that's promising. Have you tried one stick of RAM at a time and removed any cards other than your graphics card?

If you take the RAM out and leave it out, does it give you distress beeps when you power it on?

I haven't tried just one stick and I don't have any other expansion cards. Just a graphics card.

Haven't tried, I'll have to plug in the case speaker.

It worked with just one stick. It's booted up. What does that mean? Is one of my modules dead or what?

Try it with just the other stick first just to be sure. If it doesn't come up--that stick is bad. If it does, there might be a problem with the RAM slot.
