So, I have been saving up to upgrade my current system. I was wondering if I could get some input as to what you guys think I should buy.

Approximate Purchase Date: this week / next week

Budget Range: $900 - 1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming
Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: CPU, Mobo, PSU, GPU

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location: City, State/Region, Country - FL

Parts Preferences: AMD CPU

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Depends on what you guys suggest

Monitor Resolution: 3 - 24 inch monitors

Additional info:
My current System:
Case: NZXT Phantom (http://)
Memory: 16 GB G.SKILL
CPU: AMD phenom 1055t
MOBO: MSI (not sure what kind it is, since I’m not home, however since I’m upgrading the CPU I figured I would upgrade the Mobo)
PSU: 700W power supply (I’m looking to upgrade to modular/ SLI and crossfire compatible)
HDD: 1TB WD
GPU: Radeon HD 6770

Thoughts:
I was thinking about upgrading my cpu to an AMD FX-8350, along with a closed loop water cooled heat sink.

Thanks

Depending on your current PSU, you may not need to upgrade it.

I just figured that AMD was a cheaper route.

But you think two 760's would be better than one r9 290?

Much better, I would go for a 4GB model to SLI though. Two of these (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121775) 2GB 760's actually outperform an R9 290X stock by a bit. Albeit there might be an increase in performance with an OC'd 290x (but then again you can OC the SLI 760's). The cheapest 290x I could find was $540, and the two cheapest SLI 760's carrying 4GB of VRAM is about $590. So about $50 for a 5-15% increase(ish).
