Im building a pc and I want half a TB of ssd storage for my games. the 480gb version is 50$ more than 2 140gb drives. I dont want raid 0 untill I can afford afew backup drives. What raid merges 2 drives without using raid 0.

More about : raid combine ssds

None, you merge 2 drives with Raid 0, there is no other options. The only other raid you can even do with two drives is raid 1, which is not what you want obviously.

If there is a spanned JBOD option, try that.

If you want 1/2TB of SSD drive space, then but a 480/500/512GB drive.

2 x 140GB drives is not 1/2TB.
2 x SSD in RAID 0 is a losing proposition.

OK....initially, you said 140GB drives (which really don't exist)
Now that we know you're talking about 240GB drives....

RAID 0 with SSD's is still a losing proposition.
Yes, you can, but it gains very little. No speed benefit, and greater fail potential.

You can run two drives just fine without the RAID 0. I do. It's just 2 different drive letters.

For your initial question: what you seek does not exist.
Just have them as two drives. A 'C' and 'D'.
