Where are my files?

Recently, My old computer passed away. I purchased a new one. I took the HD from the old and set it up as a usb external through a docking station. I then tried to access my documents, pictures and video from the old drive and I couldn't find them there. Could someone tell me what I must do to get to these files? thanks...

Are they just missing or do you get an access denied? And where are you looking for them?

XP - Files are in Document and Settings \ Username
Vista and up - Files are in User \ Username

Files lost?
Try 4Card Recovery, a professional recovery tool.
Be sure that your data not overwritten, otherwise you won't be able to recover it.
Have a try.
Step one, download 4Card Recovery and install it on your computer
Step two, run it and select the files that you want to recover.
Step three, choose the next button and to scan it.
Step four, store the recovered data on other disk.
