I was going to wait for 880 to come out, but with the recent news of it being 28nm and very late this year/early next year I'm starting to question whether it's worth waiting (assuming the news is correct).I'm unsure whether to wait it out and see or change to 780/780Ti since I also plan in the near future to upgrade monitor to either 1440p, 4k, 21:9 (and/or increase refresh rate) which would memory wise be pushing my 690 a bit. Regardless of the upgrade I would be going SLI at xmas (if necessary).
So I'm wondering what peoples thoughts on upgrade options are (sticking with the green team).
And which of the monitor changes would be best?

If you can afford it I would go ahead an just get SLI 2 780ti's because the 880 will be marked up so much in price that you could probably buy 4 780ti's for the price of one 880. Also, 4k can easily be reached with what you have. Just depends on the settings you are wanting to use in game.

Maxed settings, or as close as is reasonably possible, obviously bar AA if necessary to get the frames up given the high pixel density. Forgot to put that in the OP.

I feel that 880 being as much as 4xTi is a bit extreme though :p

Also, 780 for the extra 1GB or Ti for the extra horsepower? I want to not be upgrading again until pascal at the earliest, obviously being willing to make settings compromises on the way as necessary.
