I have a large (200mm) intake fan on my case window, when it's running my CPU fan stays at low speeds (3,400RPM), and my CPU overheats under load (~78c). Now when I unplug that fan, my CPU Cooler spins up to full speed (5,000-7,000 RPM) And my CPU stays at ~55c under full load.

Also I am using the (older version) of the stock cooler for the AMD FX-8350.

I tried using speedfan but that just multiplies my current fan speed by the percentage (so if I put it at 100% no change, 50% cuts it in half)

Please explain to me why more airflow would make my CPU fan slow down and let my CPU majorly overheat?

This could be happening because the side case fan is cooling the sensor that is supposed to ramp up your CPU fan.

I have the Asrock 990fx Extreme 3

Also, my "Auxtin" sensor used to work a few months ago, it broke a few weeks ago and now just reads 2-4c (Before i got my new case, with the large intake fan, so before this problem started)
