Sorry for even bothering with this question, but want to be sure. Does a rear case fan have to be connected to the system fan header on the motherboard or can I connect it directly to the power supply?

Thank you very much for the help. One more question if I cold please. I have a single wire for both the power and negative for the motherboard power led connection. my manual does not mark which pin is which. Does it matter?
