What if we brought the scale down to $200-$230? I'm trying to do a temporary comparison.

Do you possibly mean the radeon r9 270x?

No, the R9 270. It's a 270x which just needs to be overclocked.

So that can offer slightly lower or similar performance to the GTX 760 you previously mentioned?

Right, it's just a bit slower than the 760 maybe 5-10 fps difference.

So for that $70 difference, you say it would be well worth it?

Well worth it, no, but it is nice if you plan to add a second graphics card later on as sli( two nvidia cards) is smoother than crossfire ( two amd cards). If you're on a tight budget go with the 270 it's a great choice.
