How to use secondary drive

So i just built my new computer and downloaded windows 8.1 and some other programs into my ssd. How do I now change and download all the rest of my things off of my 1 tb hdd. Windows detected my hdd and it's all there but when I download stuff it still goes to my ssd. So how do I make my secondary drive my primary. Also when I looked this up in google all that came up was how to make your secondary drive bootable. I do not want to boot from my hdd I want to keep booting from my ssd but download all my new content on my secondary drive hdd. Thanks

either you change the directory manually or automatically following by this
1.) Enter into Start>Run: regedit
2.) Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion
3.) Change the Path in DWORDs ProgramFilesDir, ProgramFilesDir (x86) to the new path, probably just changing the drive letter.
