No. There is no such thing as Core-i4. The terms Core-i3, Core-i5, and Core-i7 are marketing terms for 4 separate generations of microprocessors that succeeded the Core 2 series microprocessors. The Core 2 series of microprocessors actually encompasses two generations of microprocessors (first generation Core 2 and second generation Core 2)

They are equally reliable, but the newest variants are the 4th generation (Haswell) Core-i5 series microprocessors. The 2nd generation Core 2 series microprocessors are from 2008, so they are around 6 years old.
