Hi
If i have internet speed of 100Mbps from ISP and i have 10/100 onboard NIC what will be my max download speed? Is 10/100 prevents speeds above 100Mbps, what is max speed of 10/100 NIC and 10/100/1000 NIC
Does 100Mbps internet need 10/100/1000 NIC?

10/100 means it will operate at 10Mbps OR 100 Mbps, depending on the max speed of the networking switch your computer is connected to. You'd have to go back 10-15 years to find a switch that couldn't support 100Mbps, so you'll get 100Mbps between your computer and the switch for sure.

A 10/100/1000 Mbps NIC can also support 1000Mbps (1Gbps), but given that your internet is maxed at 100Mbps, you wouldn't see any measurable gains by stepping up to a faster NIC.

If you have other devices on your local network (like network storage), then you could certainly benefit from a 1Gbps switch. But if all you're interested in is the internet, then 100Mbps is fine. When I say fine, that's a faaaast internet connection!

I have second question
Now im changing ISP provider and they offer 100Mbps for price of 20mbps. Its nice offer and i think my 10/100 NIC will be capable of using its full speeds.
They offer me to choose 4 port modem, Wireless modem or none. Which i must choose? does i need any of them?

If you're not familiar with setup, it's usually easier to get the modem from your ISP, they usually come preconfigured. When you say 4 port modem, I assume you mean a modem router? That'll be all you need. If it comes preconfigured you should just be able to plug you computer into the router, the router to your internet line, and you're away.
