Hi, recently when iv'e gone to start a game in steam, it comes with "preparing to lanuch...." but then nothing happens. In steam, it says i am in game on whatever one i have tried to load. I check my processes and the game is there but is only using a very small amount of memory (Around 4,000k) When i go to end the process nothing happens either, so i either have to wait for the game to crash its self or somtimes after arounf 20 mins or so it loads up. I have tried everything to fix this issue but nothing it working, AM i missing something?

**UPDATE**
After the game process has stopped, every 5 or so minutes it will then boot around 3-4 of that game at a time.

Solution

K, have a couple of vague possible solutions from a quick google search.
1. Try launch the game itself using the .exe in your steam directory. Also try run it as admin
2. Your graphics card may have crapped its arse...

Is steam uploading save files to steam cloud? Sometimes that bugs out and results in you having to wait for ages for it too finish. It can take even longer if you are trying to boot another game at the same time..

I presume you've done all the simple stuff such as restart steam as well as windows?
Bit of a stupid question on my part but I pays to ask :p

I understand, i have spent nearly a week trying to fix it. I have reinstalled steam, reinstalled my games, and trust me. On a 400kb/s download speed that takes some doing. Reinstalled all my drivers (Dirext x, nvidia e.t.c) and i get the same issue. I think there are about 4 out of 50 games that boot instantly.

1. Try launch the game itself using the .exe in your steam directory. Also try run it as admin
2. Your graphics card may have crapped its arse, try running a game that doesnt use the steam client?
3. Try verify your game files through steam.
4. According to a steam thread, if you replace your dinput8.dll with a fresh one, like that can be found here: http://www.topdll.com/download/dll/?q=5e08ac958be05247ff1539e0d1ce7905
that may work, just download the dinput8.dll and place it in your games directory

Unfortunately you may have to do something as extreme as reinstall windows :(
