Hi there!
I just moved to a new large house. BT came to install the router which works fine. Now I see ethernet sockets in some rooms, but it does not look like it is connected to the router as there is no internet connection when I plug my computer to one of them (without wifi)
What am I missing?
I imagine that those ethernet sockets must be linked to some kind of hub and this hub should be plugged in one of the ethernet sockets in the router.
Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance

You are correct you must find the point all the ethernet sockets go to and place a switch at that point and then connect that switch to your router.

It all depends where exactly the wires all go to. They almost always go to some panel in some closet or something. The challenge after you find it is figuring out how to get your router connected to that closet.
