Dear forum members,

I'm seeking for help. A friends computer packard bell TJ65 has been installed with Win8 but usb was not working. I 've seeked on packard bell for drivers but there aren't any. By mistake i installed a chipset driver for Win7 (official from Packard Bell). Now the problem is the laptop is not starting or at least the screen is black.
I've tried all combinations for recovery, bios boot, F2, F8, Alt+F10...
If i put a win7 cd it does read something for some minutes but as the screen is black I cannot see if it is really working. Tried changing the HDD but with no luck. Tried connecting to an external screen but with no luck.

Can someone give any ideas to solve this? I've check the HDD on another PC and it still has the recovery partition. Can I just format the Win8 partition?

Thanks and best regards,
Mauro

Regarding USB drivers for the built-in USB hub and ports, they are generic Microsoft drivers included with the OS, hence no such drivers are supplied by Packard Bell.

Now the display problem. The fact that there's not even a display to an external monitor points to it possibly being a failed graphics chip inside the laptop, since even without an OS installed or a totally blank hard drive you should still see something on the screen as it goes through the POST process, at least an error message, either on the laptop screen or external monitor if it's plugged in. The fact that your seeing nothing does suggest graphics chip failure.

You need to get the probable graphics chip failure sorted out/investigated before you can proceed with...
