Thermal Paste questions

I bought the coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO fan to put in my computer. I ordered it and then saw people recommended other pastes. Is the thermal paste it comes with fine? What method of applying the paste it comes with do you think works best?

You shouldn't really remove/replace the cooler after applying the TIM. That introduces microscopic air pockets into the paste that can cause poor thermal transfer between surfaces. Too much will also retard thermal transfer.
Run something like prime95 or Intel Burn Test and watch then temps. If they seem out of line, re-do the installation after cleaning the paste off completely.

I have used their TIM and many others. If applied correctly, there is VERY little difference between TIMs. Put a dab in the center of your CPU's heat spreader and mount the cooler. The TIM I use presently, is MX-4. I chose it simply because it is good and it isn't electrically conductive if you get any on the MB.

I've used both AS5 and the included TIM, both work fine. The nice thing about the included TIM is it doesn't have a break in period like AS5 (though AS5 after break in works better). So if your eager to use your new cooler just use the included TIM.

I would start over and re-do the TIM installation just to be safe. It sounds like you used way too much. You only need a tiny dab about half the size of a pencil eraser in the center of the CPU's heat spreader. It just wants to be enough to form a thin film that fills in the microscopic pores of the metal.
