I ordered a new build thursday, and it arrived on Friday, as I was building it and tried to install my wifi adapter into the PCI slot, I found out that the card is too short and the backplate does not reach the end of the case. I tried screwing off the backplate, but one of the screws refuses to budge, even after using a power drill. I thought about using WD-40 on the screw, but I'm afraid it might damage the card. Any ideas?

Your motherboard does NOT have a PCI slot. That card is for PCI slots, not PCIe slots. You need a wifi card that fits one of your PCIe x1 slots.
