Computer keeps restarting, or shutting off and back on

Hey guys!

So I built a PC for the first time less than a week ago. As I was installing the OS (Windows 7), the computer went off and then came back on instantly. It did this a few more times, it finally stopped and installed the OS. All goes well after that and it doesn't happen at all anymore... until last night.
I was in the middle of playing a game (League of Legends) and poof. I quickly get back on to finish the game then just browse the internet to see if it happens again and it doesn't. I play another game and a few minutes in, it happens again. Then again and again and again and again... you get the point. Afterwards, I browse the internet again and it doesn't happen. So I just go to sleep and today I play again with no problems. Then I play tonight annnnnd it goes off. However it also did it two more times as I was logging back into my computer.

So... it seems like the only consistent things is that it does it while I'm playing League of Legends (though it has done it while I'm not playing it those two times) and it happens at night, even though I don't think the time of day should matter. Also, for 2 days I played League of Legends just fine, one day playing for about 6 hours. And if it helps, while I'm playing League my PC temp stays around 128-136 Fahrenheit. Any idea what it could be and what I should do to fix it?

Your computer heat is fine, actually its below normal operating heat, so its cooling well. Also, your computer is supposed to turn off and on during install of the Windows OS, so the occurrences are not linked. From first glance it seems like it could be quite a few things. Clear up for me what you mean by "turns off", is the screen going black, or is everything powering down, or something else?

Go to control panel, system, advanced settings, hardware tab, click settings under startup and recovery, unecheck automatically restart.
This way when the system kicks off, if it is due to PSU or motherboard issue it will just turn off, if it is due to almost anything else it wil force windows to throw a blue screen.

Since you are playing games and it dies it makes me automatically think it is a PSU problem. While your psu has enough watts for your GPU and it is a decent quality one, you could still have a defective one.

By off and on during the install, I meant it was doing it while it was trying to boot up. I know it restarts a lot during the actual install haha.

Screen goes black, fans keep spinning, then BIOS shows (or the thing where it says ASRock, press _ for boot options or whatever), then it says Windows didn't shut down properly: start in safe mode, safe with network, safe with command, or normally.

Don't know anyone I could borrow a PSU from. I'd just have to see if I can get another if that's the problem

Looking at this could it be a software issue too.Did you try safe mode with network possibilities?

Okay so I did this and played League of Legends pretty much all day. Didn't happen. So later on (around midnight), I started playing another game and it just turned off (no blue screen). Then it happened a couple more times a little bit ago while watching youtube videos. So probably motherboard or PSU then?

Also, I don't think the time of day would matter but it really seems to be connected to night time for some reason. I don't have a single problem with the computer until after 11 PM.

Maybe a psu problem. The corsair units have a low "hold up time" which afiak means that when there's a dip in the power to the unit from the wall can't it keep up the current long enough to keep things stabel and will it shut down. But from what i read doesn't the pc really shut down.
Maybe in the night that these dips are more frequent.

Would it be better if I was directly plugged into the wall? I have my PC plugged into a power strip at the moment.

Try unplugging all USB things, the hard drive, and the disk drive to reduce all power usage. It will boot up and stay in Bios, so do it right before you go to bed. See if it runs clean through the night
