OK, I have a gaming PC, and am going to upgrade it with the following components:

Windows 8

Motherboard
Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0 AMD 970 AM3+ Motherboard

CPU
AMD FX 8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor 4.00GHz Piledriver Socket AM3+

RAM
Corsair Memory Vengeance Blue 8GB DDR3 1866 MHz CAS 9-10-9-27 Dual Channel Desktop

GPU
Sapphire R9 270X 2GB

Now, my case is a raidmax tornado, and most people have said that the AMD FX 8350 needs a better cooler than the one it comes with, however most recommendations are quite large (16cm in height). Looking at my tower I cant see how that is going to fit, and the components checker online doesnt list the available height in my case.

So, I was wondering if its possible to fit a smaller cooler (92mm fan I think it is), whether it is worth it, and if anyone has any suggestions? If it helps my current CPU takes up around 9cmx9cx7cm, and their is prob a few cm each way spare.

Any help is welcome.

As a sidenote, I have no experience fitting/removing hardware so I am getting a local company to do it for me, apart from the components listed, is there anything else I would need to provide that I havent thought of?

All advice welcome.
Cheers

If you are okay with your stock cooler (as in, you aren't over clocking, you aren't annoyed by the sound or aesthetics of it) then your computer will run with zero issues. The stock cooler that it came with is made for that CPU and it is made to keep it just cool enough to function properly.

If you are trying to over clock or reduced noise, coupling an all in one water cooler with a noctua fan will really do that job quite well. Corsair seems to be the leading brand for all in one cooling solutions, and that may make you the happiest. It will provide quiet operation, pleasing aesthetics, and low profile cooling.
