Hey guys, I am planning my new build and I want an immersive gaming experience with the best graphics I can afford. My question is, how many monitors will the R9 290X be able to play games at high to max settings on? I know that it SUPPORTS up to 6 monitors, but will it be able to play games at high-max settings on them? Also, if it is able to play R9 290X on 6 at high-max, what resolution will it be able to play on those? Should I get 2 290Xs in crossfire if I wanted to play on 6 monitors? Thank you for any help and advice!

6 monitors for gaming, not a chance unless you want low res.

That compares the 295x (two 290x's on one card, the titan, 290x's in xfired and few others) at 4K, which is 4x1080p monitors basically in a 2x2 config. As you can see you can get just barely over 50fps in most games pushing 4x1080p's worth of pixels. As you can see, you need $1500 in video card for 4 monitors and can't hit 60fps.

What about just 3 monitors? For me, playable is anything above 35 FPS, preferably over 50 FPS.
