Hi. I got one of these laptops off my mate the other day. Poor condition, but that's not what matters.

I can only get the speakers working when removing the IDT audio driver. But then the subwoofer doesn't work, which I'd really like it to.

What could I do to make the speakers + subwoofer work in this laptop under Windows 7 Professional x64 ?

I already downloaded the latest IDT audio driver for Vista/Win 7 x64 off Dell's support website.

I have checked absolutely every single setting there is to mess with, not to mention the many different drivers I've tried.
I stumbled upon a driver I found by going into Device Manager and right click on a string ID of the speakers, and this is the most succesful so far.
I can now actually open the driver program, and it seems as if it's detecting that a headphone is connected into one of the three jack ports (1 microphone and 2 for headphones). Is there any way to disable the jack port? I wouldn't mind having one not working, as the other one would still serve as primary jack port.

If I connect a set of headphones to either port, sound plays in the headphones.
