Hi guys ,
how r u all doing ?

so I had a friend who bought a new laptop which came with freeDos , he had someone created, partitioned and formatted the HDD and he went to install a win 7 copy he had sometime ago , windows setup said it couldn't be installed on the 100 Gigabyte [ c ] because the HDD is GPT !!

So what is the deal with this format , and can I install windows 8 on this HDD or it'll say the same ?
also one more question: Is it possible to convert a data-packed GPT HDD to MBR without dataloss ?

Thanks in advance guys :D

Solution
Certainly. Windows 8 was made for GPT. New PCs with Win 8 use UEFI BIOS and GPT partitions (though it's still compatible with standard BIOS and MBR)
