I think an 780 is way overkill, and a 770 is only slightly worse for about 2/3rds the price. Couldn't find the case you had, but a build like this should be better.
Also the PSU thing is important, a bad/cheap psu can DESTROY YOUR ENTIRE SYSTEM.

Yes, they will. Although I would go with an intel i5 and an asus mobo. But that is your choice. You definitely have to change your psu. The CX series by corsair is utter crap. But other than that, it's a great build

So you're saying that with a gtx 760, he'll be able to play battlefield 4 on ultra? Utter nonsense. Numbers are not the same as the actual performance of a gpu under real conditions
 


I didn't suggest a 760, I said a 770.

As long as he doesn't break 1080p, he should be fine with a 770.
