Was looking for recommendations for a first time builder. [Sorry for the long post]
$300 is ideal, $50 more or less is okay too. Or perhaps a pre-built desktop instead.

I'd like something that will run ESO / Skyrim / Dark Souls smoothly with reliable parts. I don't need high end parts, just enough so that I don't have to worry about the FPS being too low with lowest settings. I like pretty graphics but my priority is smooth game play.

I have a monitor, OS, keyboard, mouse, optical drive, cooling fans, and tower. Might need a CPU cooler?

Would like some build-ideas, brands and companies to avoid/aim for, and no overclocking. Just something simple.
I live in the US and don't really have an approx. purchase date, and no site preference.
Eventually when I'm done with school, I'd like to build a better gaming computer.
Thank you and again, my apologies for the long post. :)

This should run most things on the lower settings completely fine. As for the cooler, I wouldn't worry about getting one until you go for a more expensive build.

For that price I would go with an APU...

Hadn't thought about an APU, seems reasonable enough with the given budget.

Thank you for that and the pc-part suggestions :)
