I have http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QBUL1C/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ram and a http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z87extreme3 mobo. right now i have the ram in slots 2 and 4 but i havent tried to urn my pc on yet. is this ok or should they be in slots 1 and 3?

Most mobos can run either 1-3 or 2-4 from CPU for dual channel, I'd try both ways, often times one set of slots will provide a hair better performance, your manual should provide the preferred set of slots, but can check yourself
