I was gifted 2 different desktops and would like to know which one to keep, or if I can combine components from each to make the best desktop. I have a samsung 256GB SSD and WD 1TB HD to use.

The first is a Dell Precision T3500 Win7Pro64bit, Xeon X5550, 12GB ram, Dell Inc. 0XPDFK (CPU) motherboard, 1024MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800.
The second is a Dell Precision T5500 Win7Pro64bit, Xeon L5506, 12GB ram, Dell Inc. 0CRH6C (CPU1), with 2 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 580 cards (speccy also shows ForceWare version: 266.87, SLI Disabled, I don't know what this means).

From reading forums it looks like the Xeon X5550 is better, but please give me your thoughts. I could not find a comparison of the motherboards (hence my posting). If the X5550 is better, and the 0CRH6C mb, are they compatible so i can just swap them? Also I would keep the 1024MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800, but would i want to add one of the 512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 580 cards? or is this possible?

thanks for any help.

I want to stress first that in their current configuration, neither of these are gaming systems. Quadro cards aren't gaming cards. Now, saying that, I would at most install the SSD into the X5550 system, and use that as my main system, and use the other one as a backup / spare system. Those are too nice of machines to be messing with.

Thanks for the reply. Just curious- Will it negatively affect the systems or Quadro cards to game or will it just not be as good of performance as a system built for gaming. I am just a very light gamer, as I don't have time while in school. I will most likely be hooking up the computer to my TV and also using it as a desktop with a monitor. I would like to know if it is possible to change the systems as I will only keep 1. The other I will send to my dad for his small business as a replacement of a very old system, or I will sell it and buy him a system. Thanks
