I have a HP with I-3 processor with 2.4 ghz and HP is replacing it with a laptop with I-5 processor with 1.6ghz . I was told that the new I-5 would improve the speed but it seems that since the I-5 has less ghz. it would be slower than what I have now. I do not know a lot about any of this so any comments would be greatly appreciated. I don't want HP to give me a slower laptop. My speed problem could be my Wi-Fi since I am currently in a motel. HELP PLEASE.... Any input would help me.... Thanks...

Not sure what you mean but the one says it is 3rd gen intel core I3-3110m processor (2.4 GHZ.) and the one that they are shipping me is 4th gen intel core i5-4200u processor (1.6GHZ.)

the i5 is slightly better. its a generation newer, uses less power and has better built in video. don't worry about the ghz difference.

Thanks. I just wanted to be sure that HP wasn't giving me a slower unit than I already have. Thanks again, I really appreciate your answer. It puts my mind at ease a bit..
