Because of the end of support for XP I recently decided to re-enter the modern world and purchased a combo kit for a decent entry level machine. The lowdown on the parts is AMD A10-6500K processor, ASUS 88X-Pro motherboard, Patriot Viper Extreme 4GB PC3-12800 1600MHZ memory. Being new to the world of overclocking I was amazed that the system came set up to do it's best to automatically overclock with a few simple clicks. Then being my curious self I decided to find out how good of a job it had done. After doing some research I'm pretty sure it screwed things up pretty bad even though I haven't noticed a significant degradation in performance. Right now the CPU is running at a frequency of 116 and a multiplier of 38. My DRAM:FSB ratio is 28:3, with a real clock speed of 1081 mhz and my bandwidth is 17291 mb/s. Anyone out there to verify that these are ok? The DRAM:FSB ratio is what has me wondering.
