Building a new PC for Gaming purposes and slight multitasking

So I'm looking for an opinion about current components I've chosen for this computer plus answers to maybe few additional questions.

My main idea is to build a solid gaming computer with a good price-quality ratio and budget around 900 euros. While gaming is the main reason I also do some light multitasking like photoshopping, watching videos and browsing at the same time. I don't have any intentions to do overclocking.

Current components:

Case: Fractal Design R4
Motherboard: AsRock Fatal1ty H87
Processor: Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 3.3GHz
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 760 2GB Windforce
Memory: 8GB Corsair Vengenace DDR3 1600
Hard Drive: Samsung WD Blue 1TB 6GB/s
SSD: 120GB Samsung 840 EVO
Power Supply: XFX Pro Core Edition 550W
Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
DVD-Burner: Samsung DVD-RW

My main question is about the processor. Is the Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 a good choice for a gaming computer or should I look for i5/i7? I've seen people go both ways, others say Intel Xeon is more for multi-threading purposes, but others say it works very well with gaming computer if you're not looking to overclock.

Thank you in advance!

That 760 is very low end. If you have the money, invest in a 770 or 780 as they are going to give you gaming performance. I don't know who told you that Xeon cpus are better but they're not. Stick with the i series, Xeon is for servers. Also, I would go with a hyper 212 evo as that is a much better known cooler. Also, go with a Asus mobo, they are much better qality

Thank you for your quick answer : ) Sorry it took me a while to get back on the subject.

Currently leaning towards this build:

Is the 550W power supply enough for this? Also do you think that the Fractal case will fit everything nicely without problems with the space?

this is a perfect build. Yes, a 550W psu will be enough. But if you want to SLI, I would get one by corsair for 750W and that should be enough. And yes, the case will be big enough for it.

Thank you! Though I'm still trying to decide between few mobos.

So far choices are the following:

MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Gigabyte G1. Sniper Z87
Gigabyte Z87X-D3H

Having a great audio quality is something I've been looking for as I'm not looking to buy an audio card. Both Gigabyte mobos seem to have pretty much everything I want, though according to reviews the Sniper has the best audio quality. Could use some advice on this.

Also I've chosen the Samsung WD Blue hard drive that is sata 2.5 and 5400rpm. Samsung WD Blue sata 3.5 7200rpm is a bit cheaper, does this really matter? and if the SSD is sata 2.5, does it change/affect anything if the HDD is 3.5?

You should get the 7200RPM. They last longer. Also, if you are not overclocking, a z77 mobo will be enough. Z87 is for overclockers. No, it does not affect it.
