Laptop goes to shutdown automatically

Hi this is venkat..I am new to this site.I have Sony Vaio VPCEH15EN laptop.It goes to shutdown automatically when I turn it on after 1 minute or 15 seconds..sometime it standby 15 mintutes..What is the problem and what should I do? please reply

Did you try a new battery? Run it without the battery on wall power only. If that also shuts off, try a new charger as that's the cheapest part to test first. If that does not work, try running in Safe Mode. If that works, you can have an issue with the motherboard, likely the video chip as that often dies on laptops. Could be the power plug also. Make sure the laptop is clean and not overheating due to clogged vents and fans.
